Bahama Mama

Bahama Mama is said to be named after Dottie Lee Anderson, a Caribbean dancer and entertainer who went by the stage name "Bahama Mama" in the 1930s. Another claim is that this cocktail gained popularity during Revolution since the Bahamas were employed as a rum smuggling base. While there are several ideas as to how this drink evolved, no one knows which is correct. This cocktail is made with rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, grenadine (to make it red) and ice. It can be served in a highball glass over ice cubes or blended.
