Mojito, the popular Cuban cocktail is one of the most famous cocktails in the world. The word Mojito is derived from the Cuban word "mojo", which means "to dress" or "to flavor". It was first served in Havana, Cuba at La Bodeguita del Medio. The drink was so well received that it spread to other countries in Europe and North America.
The mojito originally contained white rum, lime juice, sugar, water, and spearmint leaves. The key to a great Mojito lies in the rum, so use a Cuban white rum if possible. Shake all ingredients but the soda in an ice-filled tall glass until very cold. Pour into tall glass filled with ice and top with club soda, stirring gently.
