Margaritas are a popular cocktail worldwide. The drink has been around for many years now, with one of the earliest mentions being from a 1942 trade magazine.
In the 1940s, the Hot Shot Margarita was often served as a "Pulque Cocktail" made from Pulque, Tequila and lime juice. This recipe used to be mixed in a blender or shaker to blend together. It is said to have originated in Tijuana, Mexico at the La Playa Restaurant shortly before Prohibition started in 1929. It is said that an American tourist called it "the hot shot" due to its potency and later on it became known as "Margarita". It's made with tequila, Hot Shot and lemon and lime juice and it is sure to please!
