Long Beach Iced Tea is a cocktail with several variations. The earliest known published recipe appeared in the 13 January 1930 edition of the Boston Herald newspaper, and was made with gin, rum, vodka, and tequila.
There are many interesting facts about this drink that are worth mentioning. One of them is that it was created in 1869 by a pharmacist who brewed beer, added orange pekoe, lemon peel, two teaspoons of sugar and a pint of tea. Another fact is that the name derives from the color which resembles iced tea. Its original name was "Long Island Iced Tea" but in 1980s after the Manhattan bar upgraded their mix to include more ingredients it became known as "Long Beach Iced Tea".
Ingredients
½ ounce triple sec
½ ounce vodka
½ ounce light rum
½ ounce silver tequila
½ ounce gin
Ice
Cranberry Juice
Lime wheel for garnish
Recipe
1. In a collins glass filled with ice, combine the triple sec, vodka, rum, tequila, and gin.
2. Top with cranberry juice and stir thoroughly.
3. Garnish with a lime wheel.
