Betsy Ross - a cocktail that is said to have been created in Philadelphia in 1777, and named for the flag maker who designed the first American Flag. The drink was made popular by Harry MacElhone at Harry's New York Bar in Paris, France during prohibition.
A boozy number with cognac and port flavors, verging on the sweet side of strong alcohol-forward flavor. To keep the sweet flavors at bay, go for a dry curacao / orange liqueur.
