Cloister is a cocktail that was created by Gregory McDonald and first published in the New York Times on April 15, 1997. The recipe calls for equal parts gin, Chartreuse (green), grapefruit juice, and lemon juice, as well as 1/4 ounce simple syrup. The herbal-infused liquor chartreuse is included in the cocktail, which has been recommended as an excellent introduction to it.
