Hanky Panky is a blended drink that consists of gin, dry vermouth, and pineapple juice, topped with orange bitters. It was created by Ada Coleman, head bartender at the Savoy Hotel, London. The drink got its name from the concept that it will make things "happen" or bring about intimacy.
The drink has been replicated multiple times and has different variations on the ingredients based on what region you are in. The original recipe called for gin, but it can also be found with rum, whiskey, brandy, or vodka as the main liquor ingredient. One of the most popular variations includes using Crème de Menthe instead of vermouth for an interesting twist.
