The history of Harvey Wallbanger cocktail began in 1969, when a man named Donato “Danny” DiMaggio created the drink. In the late 1960s, DiMaggio owned a bar called The Hungry I. One day, he was asked to make a new drink by the owner of The Limelight Club and DiMaggio combined orange juice and vodka to create his iconic cocktail. However, one story says that it was invented by accident when bartender John Sullivan accidentally dropped some fruit into a customer's vodka and orange juice.

3 ounces orange juice
2 ounces vodka
Ice
½ ounces Galliano L'Autentico liqueur
Orange slice for garnish
Lemon or lime slice for garnish (optional)
Recipe
1. In a tall glass, pour the orange juice and vodka.
2. Add ice and stir.
3. Pour the Galliano directly onto the drink's surface over the back of a cocktail 4. spoon to create a float of Galliano.
5. Garnish with an orange slice and another citrus slice and serve.
