Lime Rickey is a highball made from gin or bourbon, lime juice, and carbonated water. Little or no sugar is added to the rickey. The rickey was invented in Washington DC in 1883 (although some claim it originated in Baltimore).

Juice of ½ lime
2 ounces Gin
Ice
Club soda
Recipe
1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the lime juice and gin.
2. Add ice and shake.
3. Strain into a collins glass filled with ice.
4. Fill the glass with club soda. Garnish with lime wedges.
