Man O War cocktail history is one of the most popular cocktails in the world. It is also known as a suicide cocktail. The beverage has a long history which goes back to the 1800s, when it was first introduced by Admiral William Sidney Smith.
It was invented in 1806 by Admiral William Sidney Smith and given its name as a reference to his Royal Navy flagship HMS "HMS Man O' War", which he commanded at the Battle of Trafalgar and through his service during the Napoleonic Wars .
