The Miami vice drink is a frozen blended cocktail made with rum and fruit juice. It was created by Toby Cecchini in 1985 when he was the head bartender at the Buena Vista in San Francisco. He created this drink because he wanted to create a drink that would be suitable for both men and women. The reason he chose to mix it with coffee was because it has a rich flavor similar to bourbon or Irish whiskey, but is not as hard on the stomach like those drinks are.
It is the perfect mixed drink for sipping in hot weather. The main attraction is its sweetness and refreshing with layers of red and cream color and complementary flavors of strawberries and coconut.
