The Tequila Sunrise is a cocktail consisting of tequila, orange juice, and grenadine syrup. The drink was invented in the 1970s by either Don Carlos Orozco or bartender George Simmons.
It was originally created in the 1970s by bartender George Simmons at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona. However, it has also been claimed that Don Carlos Orozco of the El Charro Café created it before that time.
