Whiskey Smash is a classic cocktail made with Muddled Lemon Wedges, Bourbon, Mint Leaves and Simple Syrup. It was also called the “Old-Fashioned Whiskey Sour”. The recipe was developed by George J. Kappeler, who was a bartender in Detroit, Michigan.
This cocktail is made with applejack brandy, lemon juice, sugar syrup and club soda. It can also use bourbon or rye whiskey instead of applejack brandy. The drink tastes best when served in a chilled glass with ice cubes and garnished with an orange slice or twist of lemon peel, respectively.
